Sandbaggers were large sloops or cats, nick named for the ballast sand needed to keep it from capsizing. Extremely fast in smooth water, but very dangerous to sail in choppy water due to the extremely large sail. The model sandbaggers large sail and detailed hull and deck make for a beautiful display.
